A Legacy of Empowerment

We envision a community where cultural pride and innovation intersect, creating a vibrant environment for Black professionals to excel and inspire future generations.

Together, we cultivated a moment rooted in Black excellence, a space where culture, creativity, and community came together in full expression. From the rooftop to the people who filled it, every detail was intentional, every connection meaningful. This was more than an event; it was a celebration of legacy in motion curated by a team committed to honoring brilliance in every form.

Founder and Executive Director

Crystal Plain is a Cuban-American Air Force veteran, founder of Black Brilliance on the Rooftop, and the visionary behind 3rd Star Resource and Consulting Group LLC. She brings leadership, precision, and strategic execution to every initiative she leads. With more than two decades of experience in government contracting and technical operations, Crystal combines disciplined project management with forward-thinking vision to build experiences that are culturally meaningful and structurally sound.

As a woman navigating corporate and government spaces, Crystal understands firsthand the barriers that can limit access to opportunity. Through her work in Brevard County and through her own family she has witnessed the deeper gaps in visibility, mentorship, and sustained investment impacting Black and Minority entrepreneurs and creatives.

Black Brilliance on the Rooftop was founded in response to those realities not as a performative event, but as an intentional platform for cultural pride, economic empowerment, and creative sustainability.

As Founder and Executive Producer, Crystal oversees every layer of BBOTR, from logistics and budgeting to partnership development and long-term strategy. She leads with accountability, partnership, and a deep commitment to ensuring that the next generation has access to opportunity, representation, and structural support.

Crystal believes allyship is not symbolic it is structural. Through BBOTR, she works to build intentional spaces where brilliance is not only recognized, but supported, resourced, and sustained.

Her mission is clear: build structures that last, create access that matters, and ensure the community grows together.
