Crystal Plain is a U.S. Air Force veteran, entrepreneur, business leader, and community advocate committed to creating spaces where Black and minority excellence is visible, valued, and economically supported.
After serving 10 years in the United States Air Force, Crystal continued her path of service through entrepreneurship and community leadership. She holds an MBA and is the founder and CEO of 3rd Star Resource & Consulting Group LLC, a woman-owned, minority-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned technology and consulting firm.
Crystal founded Black Brilliance on the Rooftop from a deeply personal belief that representation must extend beyond recognition—it must create access, opportunity, and tangible investment. Under her leadership, BBOTR has grown into a year-round nonprofit platform supporting entrepreneurs, professionals, artists, students, and community leaders through business education, mentorship, cultural experiences, increased visibility, strategic partnerships, and direct small-business grants.
As a Cuban American woman, veteran, wife, and mother, Crystal understands the importance of building communities where people can see themselves represented and know that their ideas, businesses, and contributions matter. Her leadership philosophy is grounded in service, collaboration, accountability, and the belief that true community impact is measured by what we help others build.
